Go Red for Women

QTS supported the Red Dress event of Go Red for Women.

About The Go Red for Women Cause:

Go Red for Women’s mission is to encourage awareness on the issue of women and heart disease. Long dismissed as an “older man’s disease” the organization’s goal has been to dispel the myths and educate the public on heart disease as the number one killer of women. Go Red challenges women to know their risk for heart disease and encourages them to take action to reduce their personal risk. Go Red also gives women the tools they need to lead a heart healthy life.

In 2003, the Red Dress was adopted as a national symbol for women and heart disease awareness. Each year, the American Heart Association hosts a Red Dress Event during New York Fashion Week where designers and celebrities team up to collaborate on an original red dress design. This culminates in a fashion show where the celebrity wears the dress. Here in the Twin Cities, The American Heart Association puts on their own Red Dress Event where local designers and celebrities do the same. The money raised by the event goes back to the local community to support Go Red activities like research, education, treatments, reporting, continuing medical education etc. Thus, your support will directly affect local women suffering from heart disease.
